Let’s get into it 👇

🏥 Bon Secours Expands in Suffolk

The News: Bon Secours has completed a major 100,000-square-foot expansion at its Suffolk facility. The upgrades include 4 new operating rooms, 18 private patient rooms, a redesigned surgery pre-op and recovery area, plus updates to the emergency department and imaging center.

Why It Matters: More space and services mean Suffolk residents can get more care closer to home, without always having to travel outside the city.

👉 The Move: If you use Bon Secours locally, check what new services and upgrades are now available right here in Suffolk.

🌲 Virginia Protects Hundreds of Acres in Suffolk

The News: Virginia officials have purchased about 870 acres of forests and wetlands in Suffolk to help protect wildlife habitat and restore longleaf pine forests.

Why It Matters: The land helps protect wetlands, wildlife, and natural areas connected to the Great Dismal Swamp region. It also helps preserve green space as Suffolk continues to grow.

👉 The Move: Suffolk is growing fast, but projects like this help make sure nature is protected too. Another reminder that development and conservation are both shaping the city’s future.

The News: Forest Glen Middle School’s boys volleyball team and King’s Fork Middle School’s girls volleyball team won the citywide Middle School Volleyball Championships.

Why It Matters: It’s a big win for these student-athletes, coaches, and school communities after a season of hard work and teamwork.

👉 The Move: Congrats to both teams on bringing home the title. Suffolk’s next generation of athletes is already making noise.
