🪦 Volunteers Are Uncovering Hidden Graves at Oak Lawn Cemetery

The News: Community volunteers are clearing decades of overgrowth at Oak Lawn Cemetery, one of Suffolk’s oldest African American cemeteries, and have already uncovered more than 40 graves hidden for years.

Why It Matters: The cemetery is the final resting place of a Tuskegee Airman, Civil War veterans, and generations of Suffolk families. Their stories deserve to be remembered and respected.

👉 The Move: Visit oaklawncemeterysuffolk.com to volunteer or support the restoration effort.

🍎 Free 24/7 Food Locker Now Open at Sentara Obici

The News: Sentara Obici Hospital and Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center have opened a refrigerated food locker outside the ER. It’s stocked weekly with fresh food and available 24/7 with a free digital code.

Why It Matters: Patients leaving the hospital with no food at home can use it, and so can community members who need food after hours. The goal is simple: dignity, access, and better health.

👉 The Move: Contact Sentara Obici Hospital or Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center at scfc.online to get a code. Know someone who needs this? Pass it on!

🏈 King's Fork's Henderson Commits to Maryland

Photo Via: News 3 WTKR

The News: King’s Fork wide receiver Anthony “AJ” Henderson Jr. has committed to the Maryland Terps after receiving 26 Division I offers.

Why It Matters: Henderson is one of the top receivers in Virginia, with 129 catches, 2,228 yards, and 26 touchdowns in his high school career. Now, he’s taking his talents to the Big Ten.

👉 The Move: Congratulate AJ and follow his journey to College Park. Suffolk is proud!
