🛝 Peanut Park Set for Revitalization With MLK Memorial

The News: Suffolk’s Peanut Park is set for a major refresh, with plans that include a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. The park has been discussed as a downtown opportunity site and a way to connect Suffolk’s civil rights history, peanut heritage, and neighborhood identity.
Why It Matters: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. visited Suffolk on June 28, 1963, where he spoke during a Southern Christian Leadership Conference rally at Peanut Park. City discussions have described the park as a potential place for cultural events, youth programs, small business pop-ups, and public space improvements that honor that history.
👉 The Move: Keep an eye on the city’s plans for Peanut Park as the project moves forward. This could become one of Suffolk’s most meaningful public spaces.
💙 Suffolk Family Seeks Help After Wheelchair Van Breaks Down

The News: A Suffolk family is asking the community for help after their wheelchair-accessible van broke down, making daily transportation much harder.
Why It Matters: For families who depend on accessible transportation, a broken van is not just an inconvenience. It can affect doctor visits, school, work, errands, and the ability to stay connected to the community.
👉 The Move: Anyone who can help should follow the family’s request through the link or share the story so it reaches more people.
⚠️ Suffolk Police Seek Help Locating Runaway Juvenile

The News: Suffolk Police are asking for the public’s help locating Anastasia Jones, 16, who was reported as a runaway on July 1, 2026. Police say she left her home in the 6000 block of Bradford Drive on June 3 and may be in the City of Franklin.
Why It Matters: When a juvenile is missing, community awareness can help bring them home safely. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
👉 The Move: Anyone who has seen Anastasia or has information should contact Suffolk Police or the Suffolk Crime Line at 1-888-562-5887, option 5, or submit a tip at p3tips.com.
