Good morning, Scoopers!
Suffolk has two new leaders stepping into big roles. 🎉 Gerald “Wayne” Rhoads is now leading Capital Programs and Buildings, while Michael John Miller is joining Public Works as assistant director.
Between the two of them, that is a whole lot of experience helping guide city projects, roads, traffic, and public buildings.
Big congratulations to them both

Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months
That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.
Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.
Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.
New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.

🐾 Suffolk suspends animal trapping due to extreme heat

The News: Suffolk Animal Control has suspended all animal trapping in the city, effective immediately, because of dangerous heat. The pause applies to all animals and will remain in place until further notice.
Why It Matters: Animals left in traps can quickly suffer from heatstroke, dehydration, or death during extreme temperatures.
👉 The Move: Do not set any animal traps until the suspension is lifted. Questions? Call Suffolk Animal Control at 757-514-7855.
🦟 Free Mosquito Dunks Available Across Suffolk

🚧 Wilroy Road Closes July 13 Through July 31

The News: Wilroy Road will temporarily close from July 13 through July 31 for work on the HRSD Suffolk Pump Station Replacement Project. Detour signs will be posted, and access to nearby homes and businesses will be maintained when possible.
Why It Matters: This is the second phase of closures after the first round ran from June 22 through July 10. Drivers who use Wilroy Road should expect delays and plan another route.
