Suffolk is looking a lot cleaner today.
The News: Over 1,500 volunteers joined the Great Suffolk Cleanup this weekend to pick up trash across neighborhoods, parks, and roads.
The Impact: Volunteers removed more than 55,000 pounds of litter from around the city.
The Who: Families, local businesses, city leaders, and even the Suffolk Police Department all came out to help.
👏 Shoutout: Thanks to groups like John Yeates Middle School, Nansemond River High School Science, BECO, Bon Secours Harbour View, Sentara, ForKids, and Epsilon Theta Zeta for stepping up.
The Why: Efforts like this help keep Suffolk clean, safe, and a place people are proud to call home.
